TASHA

APRIL 2001 Rest In Peace Tasha

Tasha just recently joined Moonshine at the Rainbow Bridge.  She developed Cancer
over a year ago and it eventually went to her lungs. I can say with half of a smile that Tasha
was blessed with good health, up until the end.  She spent her last few days as she did so many
before barking at the cat behind us and laying under my desk at my feet. She will forever be in my
heart and I will miss her greatly. I guess the hardest thing about being owned by a dog is letting go.

Tasha is a Shepherd-Dobie mix that was rescued by a friend of mine
at about eight weeks old from a drug house.  I really wasn't looking
to add a dog to my family.  That night when the phone rang and my
friend says I found this dog that really needs a home can I at least
bring her over for you to see. She knew that's all it would take. She
came right in and took over my "other" dogs food and made herself
right at home. When she climbed up on my lap and fell into a sound
sleep I was had. <grin> Of course Tasha never left that night in case
you hadn't already guessed. My friend knew she was calling a sucker
for dogs when she made that phone call.  Because she was treated
badly before she came to live with me,  she has a hard time trusting
people... Once she gets to know ya she is one of the sweetest most
loving dogs you could hope to meet, but then again aren't they all. ;)
As you can see from her picture, Tasha does not know she is a dog.
She thinks it's natural for her to sleep like that on the bed with her
head on the pillow. Tasha also loves to play with all the various toys
I have laying around, and can be possessive of her favorites. Tasha
is the head dog in this group...  or so she likes to think...   She tries
very hard to bully the other two around.  I think they just let her..  to
keep me from screaming loudly when they decide to fight. <g>  Like
all siblings do now and then. She is kaylas "mentor" and everything
Tasha does,  Kayla has to do which includes all the fun things like
barking and digging. ;)
